BENEFITS & INSTRUCTIONS, With out using a hammer.
This Borrani kit fits, early Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, and other cars that use a 42-size spinners.
Instructions & Use of the Aluminum Tool. The tool is shown without leather to show how the two eared spinner is milled and fits into the tool. The tool has straight ear angles milled into the sidewalls of the tool to UNDO and tighten both left and right sides of the car. The tool has been engraved with UNDO directional left & right arrows. The tool has been designed with a bridge to hang the tool on the spinner's ear the is facing upward. Push the other ear into the tool. Use the kit's socket to attach your breaker bar or a torque wrench and just turn to UNDO or tighten without using a hammer. The bridge frees both hands and keeps the tool from falling off while changing a tire.
The kit contains, only one Aluminum polished tool, that is wrapped in leather to protect any metal-to-metal contact, has a colored plastic insert to protect the face of the spinner, a high impact 1 ¼" socket, a wheel chock to block the wheel from spinning on the floor, when using the added leverage of a breaker bar, a black embossed storage bag to keep the kit with the car. It also has an optional aluminum carrying case.
Torque Setting: In a Lotus owner’s manual has the only settings I’ve able to find. That was 200 to 220 ft/lbs of torque. All others only recommend using a hammer. Hard to get a torque setting with a hammer.
A local shop owner, who has always used a hammer with 3 good whacks. We tested his 3-whack method and he hit within 3 to 4 lbs. each time at 210 lbs. He did say, using our tool and a breaker bar, the added leverage causes the wheel to spin on the floor. He suggested blocking the wheel.
The standard tire removal method when using a hammer.
It is to loosen the spinner with a hammer while the car is still on the ground, jack the car up, remove the spinner and wheel, replace the wheel and finger tight the spinner, let the jack back down and tighten with a hammer, drive the car a short distance and retighten with a hammer. Some say the spinner will self-tighten when driving. That is correct if you don’t brake too hard before the spinners are fully tightened.
Changing a tire made much easier without using a hammer.
Use my wheel chock by jacking the car up so the tire just turns. Place the chock on one side of the tire to UNDO and move the chock to the other side of the tire to tighten. Let the jack back down for a perfect seated spinner to the wheel. It's that simple!
When using a breaker bar, always be pushing down rather than pulling or lifting the breaker bar for a better feel of what torque was needed.
UNDO Directions:
FIRST use the directions on the spinner and engraved directions on the tool.
UNDO right side, turn clockwise towards the front of the car.
UNDO left side, turn counterclockwise towards the front of the car.
To tighten, turn sides to the rear of the car.
A Black Embossed Storage Bag, comes with all tool Kits. It is to keep the knockoff tool kits with the car, when driving.
As an option, if purchased with any of the tool kit, a red Aluminum carrying case can only be purchased with any of the tool kits listed. The red case can't be purchased as a separate item.
